A Day at the Gorge

So this was my first creative project for grad school. It is a digital photography based project using a Canon EOS 7D camera. The project was to document a place while interjecting a narrative, providing the class with enough information so that they would be able to figure out both. We we only allowed to use 30 slides max. As you can see, I took two of my friends for a day in the woods of Bedford, NY. Our goal was to find the beautiful, flowing river which once split the Mianus River Gorge, unfortunately what we came across was a desolate space reminiscent of some sort of post apocalyptic terrain. To make matters worse, upon getting lost on the way back to the car, my friends met with some truly tragic circumstances. I shot about 1200 images and narrowed it down to 28. Each image was mildly altered in Photoshop (basically just cropping them). Then, the images were put together using IMovie where I also added the sound effects and the main piano theme which you hear in the beginning and end of the slideshow. All in all I think it came out pretty well considering it to be the first time I have ever used an advanced digital camera AND IMovie. This video embedded from my YouTube channel.
